ANGER (period)

A N G E R bites, right? Kinda feels like someone is holding you down, and no matter what you do, YOU CAN'T GET UP.

We have all been HIJACKED by this enemy of relationships.

We have all lost it at least once. for some of us, we lose it once a day.

Galatians 5: 9-26

we went up and down these passages last night.

we find that paul warned us not to use our FREEDOM as an EXCUSE to INDULGE in the sinful nature.

Man, do you find you do this ... still? Do you go thru the yo-yo cycle of SIN-FEEL BAD-ASK GOD TO FORGIVE-REPENT-

SIN again-FEEL SOMEWHAT BAD-REPENT somewhat-

SIN more and more-FEEL nothing-forget TO REPENT ...

ever been here, Bruther?

We must walk in the SPIRIT, how can i break this down, let's see ... how about this, we need to walk on a path that is narrow, has specific boundaries, and is in step where JESUS walks.

in short, to walk in the SPIRIT, is to be controlled by the SPIRIT, verses 19-21 clearly lay out how we used to live, how we used to PRACTICE LIVING. now we must , as verse 25 says, WE MUST KEEP IN STEP WITH THE SPIRIT.

bruthers, we can't let ANGER have it's place in our mind, in our hearts, or on our tongue. we must DEAL PROPERLY with the hurt that so often causes our ANGER. tonight, we listened to how each guy had his goal or dream hijacked by ANGER. It was humbling and very SAD. the cycle must stop.

please post your comments.

  1. You know when anger control our lives then we are doing nothing but hurting ourselves. But when we but anger and PRIDE in the backseat we then show our true christian spirit. Today I had to see the head man at my job, I went in to his office with a christian spirit with my anger in my back pocket. When I did this GOD blessed me and let the man see that my write up was nothing but lies. So I got no disciplinary action taken against me and he threw out the write up. If I would have gone in with an angry prideful spirit I would have had a chance to loose my job. God will defend you so step back and have faith in HIM and don't let our anger get in the way of GOD doing HIS job

  2. wow!
    that is so awesome, buddy.
i'm glad you saw this thing thru.
i remember eating at MAZZIO'S (your treat, remember) and discussing how you had been written up by people who couldn't have possibly seen you.
i was impressed then, and i am so glad that you have a BONAFIDE example of how to walk in the SPIRIT.

  3. Today I got a speeding ticket in Burk. When the officer approached I had a touch of cockiness in my voice. Now I DID deserve this ticket because I was not paying attention to my speed. But I get a ticket and I believe I deserved what I got because I was angry because he pulled ME over when I was in a hurry to get home so my daughter would have a vehicle to go to work in. Not an excuse, but I should have known better.

  5. so often we men, SPEND too much time in the PENALTY BOX.
we waste our playing time, sitting, stewing and spewing.
We need to Figure out what or who pushes our buttons, and then say to JESUS, "here, you handle it, here's my REMOTE CONTROL.

guys, get back in the game, get back on the ice.
